- once a new version is released it replaces the old one, so 4.1 is gone.Who's sorry now?...Hell hath no fury as a crafter scorned!!!http://sitstayscrap.blogspot.com/
- Oh. That's unfortunate. Just to make sure, is there any other way if say a user want's to roll back?0·Share on FacebookShare on Twitter
- You would remove a current version and then install using the install file you saved on your computer. If you did not save the install file, then you are out of luck.
- Liz- how does one go about finding out if the install file was saved? To remove current version, you mean delete complete file? I did not realize I could have two versions at once.
I had 4.0 version but just updated to 4.2. So you're saying I could get 4.0 back if I saved file? Then I could update seperately if needed? - edited January 2013@NLGirl - Search for the file on your computer. The name would be something like:
MTCInstallx.x.x.exe (where x.x.x is the release number. e.g. MTCInstall4.0.0.exe)
Prior to version 2.2.0 of MTC, the file name would be something like:
MTCSetupx.x.x.exe (where x.x.x is the release number. e.g. MTCSetup1.4.0.exe) - Bryan, I'll check first thing tomorrow when I get back to my computer. I just had a thought and perhaps you can enlighten me. I have mtc on cd that I purchased with my cutter so that will stay as original if I were to load it on another computer, is that correct?
- If the version on the CD has the cricut plug in you are good to go.0·Share on FacebookShare on Twitter
It will be the 'original' of whatever version is on the CD. So, it depends upon when you 'bought' the CD. Some people have an extremely early version of MTC like a 1. or 2. version!! (Neither of them used or needed the Cricut plugin). The earlier the version you have, the less functionality it will have and you won't be able to upgrade it unless you find you have a later version still on a computer or backed up some where.. . . This is why it is so important (Cricut user or not) to BACK-UP your software installations so you have them if you ever need them!Go Vols!
Cutting with 18' Silver Bullet and a KNK Force (the rest are collecting dust!)- @NLGirl,
If you are using a Windows computer, you should also have the option to do a System Restore to a restore point before you updated... that would get you back to your latest version that still worked without forcing you to use the version that came on your old disk.'All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing' Edmund BurkeJeanette in Orange County, CALove my Italian Greyhound --> I.G.--> iggyOwn a Create: Krikee, getting used to a Black Cat Cougar: Bagheera
